The founder of Babybliss, Kate Stewart, is a qualified tutor and examiner with the STA and holds many training courses. These allow you to teach varying levels of swimming based classes as well as safety courses.

BFS Training are pleased to offer the following courses:

STA   Baby and Pre School

The Baby and Pre-school qualification aims to produce teachers that can teach aquatic activities.  These are to include: paddle strokes to babies and pre-school children during adult and children lessons. Teachers will be able to deliver the STA starfish programme and other upto and including the Stanley series of the STA International learn to swim programme.

Pre-requisites for this course:

  • Must be 18
  • Hold current membership with STA ( this can be done day 1 of the course)
  • Hold the Pool Emergency |Procedures or acceptable equivalent qualification
  • Must hold Safegaurding children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults certificate. 

STA   Swimming Teachers –Award 

The Award qualification aims to produce teachers that can teach upto 10 beginners..  Teachers will be able to deliver a number of STA programmes in their  International learn to swim programme.   They may also act as an assistant swimming teacher and can teach larger classes or advanced skills under the direct supervision of a swimming teacher qualified to certificate level.

  • Must be 16 years old
  • Hold current membership with STA ( this can be done day 1 of the course)
  • Hold the Pool Emergency |Procedures or acceptable equivalent qualification
  • Must hold Safegaurding children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults certificate.

STA    PEP ( Poolside Emergency Procedures)

This Qualification is for swimming teachers, aqua aerobic instructors and even school teachers.   This qualifications allows you to offer safety cover for swimming sessions.

What is covered?

Basic rescue, first aid and resuscitation skills.  A rescue/safety award is the pre-requisite for our qualifications in swimming teaching.
